Realtor.com®, along with Veterans United Home Loans, has announced U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Anthony Zeitz, of Reading, Pa., is the brands’ $50,000 Independence Day Homebuyer Giveaway winner. Zeitz has been awarded $50,000 for a home purchase.
“Home is more than a roof and four walls; it’s where people can put down roots and where memories are made,” says Raymond Picard, executive vice president of Sales for realtor.com. “After they have given so much to protect our freedom, we are honored to help the Zeitz family build the home of their dreams.”
“Staff Sgt. Zeitz and his family have given so much to our country and continue to do so,” says Kris Farmer, CMO at Veterans United Home Loans. “Having a hand in building their dream home is extremely exciting for us. We are proud to partner with realtor.com for the second straight year in helping a veteran or service member achieve the American dream of homeownership.”
Zeitz joined the Marine Corps in 2008, and married his high school sweetheart soon after. After a deployment overseas and several relocations, military orders took Zeitz and his wife, Nicole, along with their two children, to Reading. The family will be starting a new chapter in their lives this fall as Permanent Change of Station orders will take them to Eastern North Carolina, where they will use the giveaway’s $50,000 prize (less tax withholding) toward building their new home.
“We are extremely grateful for this prize,” says Zeitz. “My wife and I are very appreciative of Veterans United and realtor.com for this opportunity to be able to put this money toward our dream home. It’s truly a blessing.”
